THRIVING AT UNIVERSITY: A GUIDE FOR FIRST-YEAR STUDENTS
Transitioning from high school to university is exciting, but it also comes with new expectations, freedoms, and responsibilities. Many first-year students struggle not because they lack ability, but because they are unfamiliar with how university life works — academically, socially, and personally. This course is designed to guide newly admitted university students in Tanzania to start strong, stay focused, and succeed throughout their academic journey.
Through short, practical video lessons and self-reflection activities, students will learn essential skills such as understanding academic programmes, managing time, using university learning platforms, building positive relationships, and adapting to new methods of learning at university. By the end of this course, students will feel confident, organized, and purpose-driven — ready to make the most of their university life from day one.
